MetaCentrum Ambassadors

Become the face and pillar of e-infrastructure at your institution

We are looking for experienced users who want to help their colleagues and students utilize MetaCentrum's computing and data resources, and who would like to become our ambassadors at their home institutions—helping colleagues and students get started, raising awareness of e-infrastructure services, and becoming part of an active mutual support network.

The ambassador role does not require much extra time—most activities naturally build on what you are already doing. And most importantly: you won't be in this alone. You will have the MetaCentrum team and a network of colleagues behind you, whom you can turn to at any time.

What does an ambassador do?

  • Supports colleagues and research groups—helps colleagues discover MetaCentrum's possibilities, advises on practical use, and recommends relevant materials.
  • Promotes MetaCentrum and e-infrastructure services—integrates infrastructure into teaching and research, participates in local events, distributes promotional materials, and shares posts on social media.
  • Shares feedback—brings user suggestions and needs directly to us.
  • Networking with other ambassadors—uses a shared communication channel, participates in informal coffee-break calls and meetups.

What do you get?

  • Better fairshare—increased priority for your own calculations.
  • Visibility—we will promote you as a MetaCentrum ambassador, and you can list this role in your projects.
  • Personal development and materials—detailed training, distinctive promotional materials, opportunities to speak at user seminars.
  • Community—a network of colleagues who help each other, share experiences, and grow together.

Who can become an ambassador?

Anyone who already actively uses MetaCentrum, enjoys passing on their know-how, and wants to support its wider use—typically academic staff, scientists, lecturers, and IT specialists at universities and research institutes.

How to get involved?

The first step is to participate in a one-day ambassador training session, which will take place in July in Prague or Brno.
