MetaCentrum Ambassadors
Who are the MetaCentrum ambassadors?
MetaCentrum ambassadors are active users of the computing infrastructure – researchers, academics, and PhD students from universities and research institutes across the Czech Republic who use MetaCentrum in their daily work and are happy to pass on their experience. The ambassador programme was created to help you get started with the infrastructure and to offer you the chance to consult on issues typical of a wide range of fields.
Whether you are just finding your way around MetaCentrum or need help with a specific tool, you can get in touch with an ambassador at your own institution or beyond it.
How can an ambassador help you?
- Getting started with the infrastructure – they will help you navigate the range of MetaCentrum services and choose the ones that suit your research.
- Practical tools and workflows – they can advise on the specific software and methods they use themselves – from batch jobs (PBS) through Jupyter to containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience from your field – ambassadors cover a broad spectrum of disciplines, so you can choose someone who works on problems similar to yours.
How to find an ambassador?
You will find the list of ambassadors in the List of ambassadors . You can filter ambassadors by organisation or by expertise (the specific tool or technology you need help with). Each ambassador's card and detail page shows their focus and a short introduction.
How to get in touch?
Simply click on the card of the ambassador you have chosen – you will find the contact e-mail in the detail. Ambassadors help on a voluntary basis alongside their research work, so a reply may take some time, and an ambassador is not obliged to answer every query or solve every problem – they provide help according to their abilities and expertise.
If you do not find a suitable person in the list, write to meta(at)cesnet.cz and we will advise you who to turn to.
Ambassadors and MetaCentrum support
Ambassadors complement, but do not replace, the official MetaCentrum support. Our support team directly handles technical issues, infrastructure operations, accounts, and login – so please direct such queries to meta(at)cesnet.cz. Ambassadors are here primarily for field-specific advice, sharing experience, and situations where something needs to be demonstrated live. If you are unsure who to turn to, get in touch with us and we will advise you.
