MetaCloud interface available

MetaCentrum and CERIT-SC center start providing an academic HPC cloud testbed.

MetaCloud is an alternative to the conventional job submission through the batch system. Instead of running jobs in a fixed environment (operating system etc.) defined by MetaCentrum, entire virtual machines are run. The machine is fully controlled by the user. Virual machines are created using images - a full installation of an arbitrary operating system. Both pre-defined and user-provided images can be used, we support Amazon EC2 images too.

Two cloud interfaces are available, OpenNebula Sunstone web interface and ONE tools with a command line for advanced users.

Access to the MetaCloud testbed is provided on request at cloud@metacentrum.cz.

HW resources
* 10 node cluster (24 CPU cores and 100 GB RAM per each node)
* 40 TB of shared storage (S3 only)
More resources will be added according to demand.
