TRVALÁ ODSTÁVKA diskového pole /storage/brno1
PERMANENT SHUTDOWN of /storage/brno1
Based on the previously announced complex service maintenance of the /storage/brno1 disk array, it has been discovered, that its future failure-free operation cannot be guaranteed because of its current condition and age. Thus, it has been decided that this disk array will be ***PERMANENTLY SHUTDOWNED***.
The consequences for you, our users:
- The disk array /storage/brno1 is currently available just in the "READ-ONLY" mode.
- Currently, your data currently stored in /storage/brno1 are being copied into the Jihlava disk array (into a separate service space, outside your home directories)
- simultaneously, your Jihlava disk quotas will be increased (to the value quota_brno1+quota_jihlava1)
- Once the data are copied, the disk array will be shutdowned; your data will further be available in common mode (i.e., read-write) through the path /storage/brno1 (will point to the new storage space)
- During this year, there's a plan to purchase new disk array to the Brno location, which will supplement the decreased storage capacity.
***IMPORTANT:***
- please, if you plan to submit new jobs requiring the data stored in /storage/brno1 in close future (i.e., before making the data available in read-write mode again), *copy out the requested data* into a different storage array and make your computations to work with them (it cannot be guaranteed that your jobs won't crash during the storage swapping)
- please, *DO NOT USE* the path /storage/home any more (this has been an alternative path to the /storage/brno1 disk array) -- this path will be PERMANENTLY REMOVED.
We're really sorry for inconveniences caused by this action.
With best regards
Tom Rebok.
