The initial training for MetaCentrum ambassadors is cuccessfully behind us
In the second half of July, Brno and Prague hosted the initial training sessions for those interested in the MetaCentrum Ambassador Program. A total of 47 active users came together, all eager to help their colleagues at their home institutions and drive the utilization of our e-infrastructure forward.
Right at the start, Jiří Vorel from MetaCentrum introduced the participants to the core pillars and goals of the entire program:

- Connecting the community by linking experienced users across various institutions.
- Providing institutions with a local ambassador ready to help colleagues with getting started and using computing resources efficiently.
- Gathering valuable insights from practice to help us further develop MetaCentrum, ensuring it remains as user-friendly as possible.
Lively discussions and know-how sharing
The training sessions were far from just passive lectures. On the contrary, they were packed with lively discussions where participants exchanged practical tips and tricks to streamline their work. For us, these debates were a fantastic opportunity to look under the hood at the challenges users are currently facing. Together, we also reviewed the complete portfolio of services that MetaCentrum offers.
What’s Next?
The initial training is just the beginning. Here is what you can look forward to in the near future:
- Ambassador profiles on the website
We will soon publish profiles of individual ambassadors. This will make it easy to find a contact person directly at your institution or an expert in a specific software. - Regular online meetings
A space for continuous experience sharing and passing feedback directly to our team. - Thematic training
We will focus on specific, highly relevant topics—such as analyzing the most common user errors. - A second chance for those who missed out
We plan to reach out to interested candidates who couldn't make it to the summer sessions.
