New HW in MetaCentrum

I'm glad to announce you the MetaCentrum computing capacity was extended with a new cluster (Institute of Vertebrate Biology) and the second SGI UV2 machine (CERIT-SC/FI MU)

• cluster bofur.ics.muni.cz with 4 nodes (48 CPUs), configuration of each node:
  • CPU: 2x 6-core Intel Xeon E5-2630v2 @2.60GHz
  • RAM: 64GB
  • disk: 2x 1TB
  • location: Brno
  • network:  Infiniband QDR, 2x1Gb/s ethernet
  • owner: Institute of Vertebrate Biology AVCR

The cluster can be accessed via the conventional job submission through Torque batch system (arien.ics.muni.cz server). During the testing period the cluster will be available in the "ubo" and via standard shorter queues (up to 2 days).

• SGI UV2 (SGI UV 2000) machine urga.cerit-sc.cz -- 1 node (384 CPUs, 6 TB RAM), configuration of each node:
  • CPU: 48x 8-core Intel Xeon E5-4627v2 3.30GHz
  • RAM: 6 TB
  • disk: 72 TB scratch
  • location: Brno
  • network:  2x 10GE, 6x IB
  • owner: CERIT-SC MU, FI MU

The machine can be accessed via the conventional job submission through Torque batch system (wagap.ics.muni.cz server). The machine is available in the "uv" queue.
