We test new OS Debian9 on some nodes (only zewura7 at the moment) of CERIT-SC Centre. The number of machines with OS Debian9 will gradually increase. For upgrades, we will use all scheduled and unplanned outages.
To list nodes with OS Debian9 use Qsub assembler for PBSPro (set resource :os=debian9) https://metavo.metacentrum.cz/pbsmon2/qsub_pbspro
If you do not set anything, your jobs will be still (temporary) running in the default@wagap-pro queue on machines with OS Debian8. If you want to test the readiness of your scripts for a new operating system, you can use the following options:
zuphux$ qsub -l select=1:ncpus=2:mem=1gb:scratch_local=1gb:os=debian9 …
zuphux$ qsub -l select=1:ncpus=2:mem=1gb:scratch_local=1gb:os=debian8 …
zuphux$ qsub -l select=1:ncpus=2:mem=1gb:scratch_local=1gb:os=^any …
If you experience any problem with libraries or applications compatibility, please, report it to email@example.com.
Please, note OS of special machines available in special queues may differ, e.g. urga, ungu (uv@wagap-pro) and phi (phi@wagap-pro) are running on CentOS 7.
Special node oven.ics.muni.cz with a large number of less powerful virtual CPUs is primarily designed to run performance-less (control/re-submitting) jobs. It is available through a special 'oven' queue, which is available to all MetaCentrum users.
Queue 'oven' settings:
oven.ics.muni.cz node setting
echo "echo hostname | qsub" | qsub -q oven
