NEW cluster konos with GPU Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti available

Dear users,

I'm glad to announce you the MetaCentrum's computing capacity was extended with a new SMP cluster konos[1-8].fav.zcu.cz (location Pilsen, owner Department of Mathematics, University of West Bohemia), 160 CPU cores in 8 nodes, each node with the following specification:

• CPU: 2x 10 cores Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v4 @ 2.20GHz
• RAM: 128 GB
• Disk: 2x 4TB SATA
• SPECfp2006 performance of each node: 850 (42,5 na jádro)
• GPU: 4x GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti on each node
  
• OS: Debian 9

The cluster can be accessed via the conventional job submission through PBS Pro batch system (@arien-pro server) in priority iti and gpu queues, and short jobs from standard queues. Members of projects ITI/KKY can request for access to the iti queue their group leader.

• To submit job on a machine with Debian9, please use "os=debian9" in job specification:

$ qsub -l select=1:ncpus=2:mem=1gb:scratch_local=1gb:os=debian9 …

• For completeness, to run tasks on a machine with any OS, type "os = ^ any"

$ qsub -l select=1:ncpus=2:mem=1gb:scratch_local=1gb:os=^any …

If you experience any problem with libraries or applications compatibility, please, you can try to add module debian8-compat. All problems and incompatibility issues, please, report us to meta@cesnet.cz.
